The Car of My Youth

Rust In Peace

It's a wonder that I never got killed in this thing. Steve McCaslin and I used to rule the streets in this 1970 Plymouth Duster that you see here. That is, if you could call driving around Franklin, PA “ruling the streets”

It had a 340 V8 with a Carter Thermoquad big enough to stick your head in, Crager SS wheels, traction bars, a fire extinguisher system, 200 psi air shocks (hey, it was the seventies) , '68 Camaro bucket seats, and a full set of headers, which were more often than not left unmuffled.

It also had hoodpins,
which made it extra-cool and probably added at least 5 horsepower.

I'm joking of course. Everyone knows that hoodpins easily add 20 horsepower.

I saw this car at a recent car show.
It really made me all misty-eyed for the old days.
